WHY PRESCHOOLERS SHOULD KNOW LETTER SOUNDS
Learning letter sounds is an important foundational skill for your preschooler to build before they can can learn to read and write. Your preschooler will need to learn individual letter sounds before they are able to blend letter sounds together to form words. It’s important for your preschooler to know letter sounds before entering kindergarten so they have the proper foundation to continue their education. When your child enters kindergarten they will be learning to read, and they may be expected to know how to write their name already. Having a clear understanding of letters will help your child succeed in learning these new skills.
