If you’d like to build your preschooler’s language skills, make sure that you don’t forget about helping them ask to be excused.
WHY PRESCHOOLERS SHOULD ASK TO BE EXCUSED
Asking to be excused is an important step in your preschooler developing manners. There are many instances where your preschooler should ask to be excused, such as before leaving the table, after sneezing or burping, accidentally bumping in to someone, or when asking for something. When your preschooler uses good manners they are showing respect for others, and learning to care about how they make others feel. Knowing that your preschooler uses good manners can help you feel more confident when taking them out to dinner, or sending them to a friends house. Children who learn about manners at an early age are more likely to use good manners throughout their life.
