If you’d like to build your preschooler’s language skills, make sure that you don’t forget about helping them use words to express themselves.
WHY PRESCHOOLERS SHOULD USE WORDS TO EXPRESS THEMSELVES
Being able to express themselves is extremely important in developing a preschooler’s self confidence and independence. When children are unable to express themselves they can begin to feel frustrated which can lead to undesirable behaviors. When preschoolers are able to use words to express how they are feeling they’re less likely to act out. Your preschooler needs to learn to identify their emotions, and learn how to put them into words.
It’s equally important that your preschooler knows they can talk to you about anything they’re feeling, and that you will help them figure out how to deal with anything that’s bothering them.
