If you’d like to build your preschooler’s life skills, make sure that you don’t forget about helping them wear seatbelts.
WHY PRESCHOOLERS SHOULD WEAR SEATBELTS
Even if your preschooler hasn’t yet transitioned to a booster seat, it’s not too early to teach them the importance of seatbelts. The earlier you teach your preschooler important safety skills, the more likely they are to retain the information and put it to practice when the time comes. Your preschooler needs to understand that they should never unbuckle while in a moving vehicle, even if they are still in a harness. You can help your preschooler understand the importance of wearing a seatbelt by modeling safe behavior and always buckling up.
