If you’d like to build your preschooler’s life skills, make sure that you don’t forget about helping them listen.

WHY PRESCHOOLERS SHOULD LISTEN
Listening is an important skill for your preschooler to develop in order to follow directions, as well as build language skills. When your preschooler is listening, they are learning. Your preschooler will learn about respect when they listen to others without interrupting, or follow directions the first time they’re asked. When your preschooler goes in to kindergarten they will be expected to listen to their teacher, and follow instructions. When your preschooler listens to you read to them, they are expanding their vocabulary and building a foundation for reading skills. Listening is even important when your preschooler is playing with friends so that everyone can have fun.
