When a preschooler learns to recognize their first name, they begin to gain a sense of importance and belonging. Learning their name can often be a motivator to begin learning to read or write. Preschooler’s begin to recognize the meaning of letters, and are excited to learn the letters that make up their name. One your preschooler has a firm grasp on their name they will want to learn their friends and families names as well. When your preschooler takes an interest in learning other people’s name it expands their langue skills and also improves their social skills.
