Convincing Parents To Sign Up If They Are “On The Fence”

Is it possible to convince parents to register their child in your preschool? No, you can’t really convince anyone to do anything, but there is a way to increase the odds of them saying yes to your preschool. This post tells you how.

Strategy To Increase The Likelihood That Parents Will Sign Up For Your Preschool

There are three steps to the Perfect Marketing Formula:

  • Marketing (flyers)
  • Phone Call
  • Tour

On your marketing flyers you need to include all the relevant information about how amazing your preschool is, and then use these magic words: “Call to reserve your spot and schedule a tour. Only two spots left!” You don’t know how many spots will actually be left when the parent calls you, but by using those words you increase the odds of them calling you now instead of laying the flyer down planning to call “later”–when there may not be any spots left.

By telling them to call now to reserve their spot, they think they are getting in on a great opportunity, and they are. It is up to you to wow them so they can see what a great opportunity it really is.

How To Set The Stage For Parents To Choose Your Preschool

At the end of your phone call tell them that the tour lasts about 25 minutes, they are welcome to bring all of their children, we’ll make sure we are a good fit for each other, you’ll tell them all about the preschool program, and at the end of the tour you’ll ask, “Would you like Johnny to come to preschool? If so, that’s when I’ll have you fill out the registration form and we’ll collect your registration fee.”

This conversation sets the stage. When the parent arrives for the tour, they are already expecting to answer that question at the end of it. The tour is really just a formality to see if you are a good fit for them and they are a good fit for you.

If you have done the Perfect Sign Up Formula right with your flyers, the phone call, and the tour, you will “convince” the majority of the parents to sign up for your preschool.
