As a preschool teacher there is always room for growth. Participating in workshops and conferences for preschool professional development is not only required of you for your job, but it is also extremely beneficial to you and your classroom. Through these professional development opportunities you learn from some of the most experienced professionals in the field.

TRANSFORM CHALLENGING BEHAVIOR ONLINE CONFERENCE

There is nothing more convenient than an online conference that you can participate in from anywhere. Barb O’Neill, Ed.D. has been in the early childhood education field for 25 years. She created the Transform Challenging Behavior Online Conference to help support teachers and directors dealing with challenging behaviors in classrooms.

The Transform Challenging Behavior Online Conference is a free (unless you want those professional development certificates!) annual conference that includes over 20 talks that will expand your knowledge and skills. The focus of the conference is working with young children through play to determine the root cause(s) of challenging behaviors and how to best approach them in a developmentally appropriate manner.

FREE TO PLAY SUMMIT

Sally Haughey’s Free to Play Summit is another completely online and nearly free (have to pay to get those PD certificates!) professional development opportunity. With 5 days of talks with some of the most qualified experts in the field teachers, caregivers, and families are assisted in finding their own approach to play-based education.

THE TECHNOLOGY OF SPEAKING WITH CHILDREN E-COURSE

In Teacher Tom’s 6-part e-course, The Technology of Speaking With Children, both parents and teachers will learn all about his approach. You will learn how to speak to young children in a way that is respectful, encourages free thinking, and supports children in their learning through play and real life experiences.

ELEVATE! CONFERENCE

The Kindergarten Smorgasbord’s Elevate! conference is a content packed online conference with keynote speakers and sessions with Mr. Greg himself. Mr. Gregg is a current kindergarten teacher who shares tips and content from his own classroom.

THE YOUNG CHILD EXPO AND CONFERENCE

The Young Child Expo and Conference is a chance for all professionals working with young children to gather and learn together to make a positive impact on young children’s lives. This includes teachers, social workers, child life specialists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, pediatricians, and more! Each year there is one event on each coast to help professionals all over the country be able to attend.

NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR THE EDUCATION OF YOUNG CHILDREN ANNUAL CONFERENCE

The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) hosts the biggest early education conference each year. Drawing professionals from around the world, this conference includes breakout sessions covering the most current research in the field. The NAEYC annual conference gives early education professionals a chance to participate in fun activities to extend learning from the over 100 professional learning sessions.

As you can see, there is no shortage of valuable professional development workshops and conferences for preschool teachers, you just have to know how to find them. Online conferences make these professional development opportunities even more easily accessible then ever before, and many of them are free or at least very budget friendly.
