If you’d like to build your preschooler’s life skills, make sure that you don’t forget about helping them be safe.

WHY PRESCHOOLERS SHOULD BE SAFE
In order for your preschooler to be safe they need to understand safety. It’s important for your preschooler to understand the difference between what is safe and what isn’t so they can make informed choices in the case of an emergency. For example, in the case of a fire your preschooler may initially feel that they should hide from it. Stressing the importance of running away from fire, and getting out of the building could save their life one day. When your preschooler learns how to be safe on their own, then they don’t have to rely as heavily on the outside world to be safe.
