If you’d like to build your preschooler’s life skills, make sure that you don’t forget to encourage them to be curious.
WHY PRESCHOOLERS SHOULD BE CURIOUS
Children are born with an innate motivation to learn. They do not need to be pushed to become curious, only to be provided opportunities to use their natural curiosity to explore and create. Fostering their curiosity will propel them through their early learning experiences and create a love of learning.
Preschoolers’ natural curiosity to figure out how things work makes them more observant while also building important developmental skills. When children are free to explore their curiosity they develop their language skills as they describe what they see and hear, as well as what they are thinking. Curiosity also encourages life long learning and is associated with open-mindedness and positive relationships.
