When you’re creating your preschool budget, look at the list below to see what items should be in it. There might be even more items not listed below, so add any that come up. I like use Excel or Google Sheets to manage my monthly preschool budget.

REVENUE

  • Tuition
  • Registration Fees
  • After-school classes
  • Any other revenue your preschool brings in

FIXED MONTHLY RECURRING BILLS

  • Lease
  • Teacher supply checks

  • Family “draw” (your paycheck)
  • Summer savings
  • Liability insurance
  • CPA (Bookkeeping/payroll)

VARIABLE MONTHLY BILLS

  • Gas company
  • Electric company
  • City water/sewer/trash
  • Snacks
  • Arts and crafts
  • Cleaning supplies, paper goods, and miscellaneous supplies

VARIABLE ANNUAL EXPENSES TO BUDGET EVERY MONTH

  • Professional cleaning and carpet cleaning
  • Meet ‘n Greet
  • Stock-up of cleaning supplies, paper goods, and miscellaneous supplies
  • Teacher Retreat

  • Worker’s compensation
  • Christmas gifts for staff

As with anything, your preschool budget will change every year (if not every month) so be sure to keep it up to date.
