Preschool After-School Classes

I haven’t personally done preschool after-school classes, but those who’ve used it swear by it, so I wanted to make sure I included it here. I haven’t used it because I’ve been so maxed out by everything else I’ve done.

If you’re maxed out, you could also just hire a teacher to teach these after-school classes and hold them in your home, church building, or separate building. Or, you could teach them yourself if you have the skill and keep all the profits!

What I love (and your preschool parents will love as well) about after-school classes offered at your preschool location are:

  • The parents already love and trust you.
  • They don’t have to find other people to do the thing(s) you’re offering.
  • The classes are already in an area they are willing to drive to.

So your preschool parents can add on a trusted after-school class, and you can
increase your monthly income. I can’t put a price to this, because I haven’t done it, but you could easily add a couple hundred dollars each month up to a few thousand dollars each month if you go big with this.

Some of the after-school classes you could teach (or hire a teacher to teach) include:

  • Handwriting lessons
  • Tutoring lessons
  • Computer, STEM, or coding classes
  • Art classes
  • Dance classes
  • Soccer camps
  • Running clubs
  • Theater/drama classes
  • Swim lessons
  • Music lessons
  • Mommy and Me classes

Did your eyes light up when you read those? Did any of those stand out as a talent or hobby you enjoy yourself? If so, you might be a perfect teacher for it! Remember, you don’t have to be a concert violinist to teach violin lessons… you simply have to have the right knowledge or what should be learned (and how to teach it) to be able to produce results.

What I love about these after-school classes is you’re not just limited to teaching just preschoolers… you can teach the siblings of your preschoolers’ families and their neighbors, friends, and family, as well! All of a sudden, those that already trust you can be walking, talking, raving advertisements for all that you do!

The same marketing applies to get new students (who aren’t in your preschool)… you simply have to change the subject matter (instead of preschool, replace with your after-school information).

I still absolutely love the process (explained in detail in my Perfect Sign-Up Formula) of including the 7 Key elements on all your marketing, following my phone script, and giving them a tour where you wow them and then ask if they’d like to join your after-school program. These timeless principles remain the same whether you’re signing up for preschool or for any other program.

However, if they’re already your current preschool family (or if you’re signing them up at that moment for preschool), you can simply add, “We also offer [music classes] in the evening for children ages 3-8. Would you like more information on that?” and go from there.

Once they trust you, you’re just continuing to take them down the journey with you where you can continue to bless their life with your amazing classes and talents.

As for pricing, you’ll want to charge a different registration fee for preschool after-school classes (because, after all, it’s the “extracurricular tax” that makes our world go round and lets us reinvest into our programs), but the registration and class fees should be in similar pricing to those programs in your area (unless you’re going to wazzle and dazzle your parents with an amazing offer they can’t get anywhere else in your town, and, in that case, you can definitely charge more.)
