If you live in the country you may think it is too far away to be an attractive location for a preschool, but a rural preschool could actually be your greatest selling point. This post tells you how to start an amazing rural preschool in the country that everyone will want to drive to!

A Super Unique Preschool!

If you live in the country, step outside and look around. You will probably see things like a garden, maybe some chickens, horses, and cows, maybe even a barn and a tractor! You might see a forest holding untold adventures or a stream that is perfect for racing walnut shell boats.

What kinds of things could preschoolers learn at your country home?

  • Gardening
  • Animal care
  • Entomology
  • Wildflower pressing
  • Milking a cow
  • Making fresh butter
  • Plant identification
  • Animal track identification
  • Bird calls
  • Tons of opportunities for sensory play!
  • Healthy living
  • Gross motor skills opportunities everywhere!
  • SO MANY THINGS!

You could start a super unique preschool that just can’t be found in the city.

City Dwellers Crave Nature

Nature has a calming effect on many people; the city often has the opposite effect on people. City dwellers crave nature, although they may not be able to voice that craving, they just know it is there–until they see the advertisement for your preschool, and they fall in love with the idea of giving their little one that kind of adventure. People will pay to drive to that kind of experience.

Make Your Name Reflect Your Location

If you have a rural preschool be sure your name reflects nature or rural life in some way. Perhaps:

Forest Stream Preschool

The Big Red Barn Preschool

Rural Life Preschool

Country Time Preschool

You want to convey the rural aspects of what your preschool offers in your name. This will have the effect of creating country-like imagery in your prospective parent’s minds and it will also leave no doubt that you may be a bit of a drive from where they live.

Not only can you start a rural preschool out in the country, you definitely should!
