Congratulate Your Preschoolers at Their Graduation

Preschoolers go through quite a bit of growth and development during their preschool years. For many, going to preschool is their very first experience away from Mom and Dad. It is also the very beginning of their educational journey. So, as always, celebrate their wins and congratulate your preschoolers at their graduation! Your preschoolers will feel a great sense of success when you congratulate and celebrate them at their graduation, which is sure to build confidence, too.

MAKE IT FUN

A preschool graduation ceremony should be all about celebrating your students. They have mastered so many new skills, learned to work cooperatively, and learned how to manage their emotions. Those are no simple tasks for a preschooler, so they deserve to be celebrated.

Although it is cute to see your preschoolers perform songs at their graduation, it is completely for their families. Make sure you include an extra special activity or event just for the kids. You could rent a couple bounce houses and get parent volunteers to set up activity stations like a carnival. Whatever you choose to do, just make sure it is something that your preschoolers will love.

CREATE A SLIDESHOW

Prepare a slideshow to play during your preschool graduation ceremony to show off everything they did throughout the year to their families. It is a great way to show your students how important they are to you, and how important the work that they did throughout their time with you was.

GIVE THEM SOMETHING THAT THEY CAN KEEP

Teachers often make small gifts for each of their students at the end of the year to show them how much they enjoyed having them in their class. For graduation though, your student gifts should be something more personalized and be something that they can keep.

Most of the time when a teacher gives one of their preschoolers a gift it is something that doesn’t last. Maybe bubbles, chalk, or some other kind of small toy. Those are great gifts, but you want to make graduation extra special. Making a gift for your students that they will be able to keep forever and that will remind them of what a wonderful time they had in preschool is what you should be looking for. It can be something as simple as a framed class picture that they will always have.

PRESENT THEM WITH A CERTIFICATE OR A MEDAL

Nothing says, “You did it!” to a young child like a certificate of accomplishment or a medal. It should be something that clearly states why they are receiving it. This will give your preschoolers a great sense of pride and confidence.

Congratulating and celebrating your preschoolers at their graduation is a very meaningful time for your preschoolers. Making your preschoolers’ graduation fun for your preschoolers will also make it special for them. This is an important time for your preschoolers that will create lasting memories for them and can work to build up your preschoolers’ growth mindset.
